Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Well, it looks like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are coming out with a new album on Tuesday (July 9th), “A Jackknife to a Swan”. If early reviews are any indication, this one may not be bad. They kinda fell off the ska wagon with Pay Attention, but perhaps they’ll be back in good form for this album.

The band brings back some of the old, while trying something new. It has an overall happy, upbeat, and sometimes relaxed feel. […]

I look forward to reading what MetaCritic has to say about it, as their aggregated-review system is usually reliable.

Human Clock

My brother Adrian passed along this one. HumanClock.com features the current time, but the display is made up of people holding signs with that minute’s time. So, that’s right — there’re 60 * 24 pictures in their database of people holding up signs. Actually, there’re more pictures than that, since they insert new pics into the rotation from time to time.

Be sure to also check out the FAQ. My favorite part is how the guy beats-around-the-bush in trying to explain the significance of “4:20”.

Bad Designs

Via WebWord Usability, I discovered Bad Designs. The site features bad designs of everyday objects, such as auto ceiling lights where the front ceiling-light is push-on/push-off but the rear ceiling-light is operated by a dashboard switch.

There’s also a Bad Designs mailing list, which is sent out each time the site is updated. (Of course, WebWord also has a mailing list, which is how I found out about Bad Designs in the first place)

BTTF on DVD

Cool, the Back to the Future Trilogy will be released on DVD on Dec 17th.

The DVDs will be presented in 16x9 enhanced wide screen with both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS and feature: Audio Commentary with Actor Michael J. Fox, Director Robert Zemeckis and Producer & Screenwriter Bob Gale, Outtakes, Deleted Scenes, The Hoverboard Test, "The Making-Of Back To The Future" Featurette, "Animated Anecdotes" - 150 facts and trivia viewable as you watch the film, Production Archive, and other bits. Nice.
