		<description>Alex,

If you're a "clicky-this and clicky-that"-type of user, why not just use Red Hat + Ximian Desktop? I was a big Debian fan for years, but got so tired of doing lots of little things by hand.

I've heard Gentoo is very cool, but it's even more "hands-on" then Debian. Think: Slackware-level hands-on. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I sure as hell don't have enough time to deal with all of that. :-)

While Red Hat often gets a lot of flack from folks, I think it's not too bad once you uninstall a bunch of crap and install Ximian on top of it all.

This would be a fairly easy environment to do nightly-builds of Mozilla etc. Think of it this way: you can spend your precious configuration time setting up a spiffy mozilla build system instead of configuring your video card.

<description>&#8220;Even more hands-on then Debian&#8221;? Yikes. Maybe I&#8217;ll just end up burning &lt;a href="http://www.linuxiso.org/" rel="nofollow"&gt;ISOs&lt;/a&gt; of both Gentoo and Debian and, if I can&#8217;t get through the installation of one, I could always try the other ;).
