Though you are right, the selection process wasn't near as bad as I expected, I can't say that I am looking forward to tomorrow!! Oh well, we'll see!! I'd go and they'd dismiss me. Every time. This went on for 15 years. You'd think after all that time they'd learn that no wants me in their jury - I've got lawyers, cops, and criminals in the family, been a victim of violent crime, know others who have been victims of violent crime. Just mark me off the list. It took moving to another town to stop the whole cycle. Sounds like you had a relatively good experience -- congratulations! I served in Ft Worth and everything seemed to drag on forever & just not go so smoothly. It sounds like the Dallas court treats its jurors w. a little more respect for their time. Granted, one of the times where they said it'd be "about 15 minutes" turned out to be closer to half an hour ;). But, other than that, their estimates were fairly close. It did go pretty smoothly. Sounds like it went very smooth for you. In my 2 experiences, the best they did about telling us how long we would wait is when to be back in the hall outside the courtroom. It was always some period after that (at least 15 mins, sometimes longer) when we actually went back into the courtroom, etc. Maybe things down there have improved. Wow.
