“The Shield” is Coming Back For a Seventh Season!
Back in March, I wrote about reports that series creators Shawn Ryan and David Mamet were unsure whether they’d continue with another season of The Shield. Basically those guys had been working on a new show for CBS, The Unit, and if that had taken off, the two of them might not have had time to work on another season of The Shield. It looks like luck has prevailed, though, as Ryan has decided on continuing:
He’s decided. It’s coming back.
However, if you’d been led to believe that the 10 episodes currently in production would be available later this year … think again. Season “six,” or “season 5.5” as it’s informally been called, will now be delayed until 2007. Season “seven” won’t even go into production until next summer. But truly — better late than never. […]
I can’t say that I’m overjoyed by the Sopranos-like pace at which the upcoming seasons appear to be scheduled, but I’d rather that than not have the show continue at all.
I LOVE The Shield and would be highly disappointed if a new season wasn’t going to air. This is my all time favorite tv show. I actually planned the delievery of my son around last season premier. NOT Kidding!!! I had my labor induced just so I wouldn’t miss it. This show gives my something to look forward to. Please email if there is anything i could do to prevent The Shield from NOT airing.
The Shield is the best show on TV. What is going on? I am looking forward to seeing another wonderful season. When is it coming back?
Ok theres a brand new commercial that just aired on Dirt, for the Shield. Coming in April 2007. Thank the fucking lord.
I think the Shield is an awesome show, there is so much reality to which how the politics of a major police dept. works. The show displays how good cops are hard to find and the scrutiny one has to go through when he/she does get that bad guy off the streets.Take it from a cop.
The Shield is the one of the best shows EVER!!!! I mean I like The Unit alright but if it’s not broke don’t fix it.Please hurry I can’t wait much longer,I need my Shield fix!!!!!
It would be a very sad day when The Shield is no longer. As a police officer, myself, I cannot get enough of The Shield. I make sure I tape the episodes when I’m working midnights. The Shield is a real show about real issues within the world of law enforcement. April cannot get here fast enough!!!!
I am so exciting that the Shield is coming back. This is the hottest show ever.

I love this show, because its real down deep. They don’t seem to sugar coat anything. Please bring back to us.
