I recorded the French Open men's final earlier today; I'm in the middle of the third set, but I haven’t watched all of it yet. So, if you know the outcome, don’t tell me ;).

Movies and the Dallas Mozilla 1.0 Party
As of Friday, I thought that I might have to make some tough choices for my activities this evening: it looked like the Dallas Mozilla-1.0 party could be tonight, and I was also hoping that Andy may be able help my install some suspension mods on my car sometime this weekend. Plus, Shane (from work) is holding a little party around the big fight.
Well, shall we say, things have become simplified. The Mozilla-1.0 party has been postponed ’till next Saturday, and Andy may be held up at work dealing with client shenanigans. With a hectic week behind me, it may be nice to just watch a movie on the ol’ TiVo. So, perhaps I can interfest Jason in Black Mask, Beverly Hills Cop II, or Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
Mozilla 1.0 Party
Originally, the plan was that the Dallas Mozilla-1.0 party would be on the Saturday following the release. But, Mozilla 1.0 was released earlier this week, surprising some people (and many of the party-organizers, in specific). So, it wasn't clear whetherr the party would be this Saturday (June 8th) or the following Saturday (June 15th). I e-mailed the guy twice, and only this morning do I found out (via the Dallas party homepage, not by e-mail) that it's been postponed.
To decide on the party location, they listed several possibilities that the group would vote on. There were several excellent choices, including The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium and The Londoner. And, what do they choose? Dave & Buster’s, bleh. Between their $1-per-play arcade games and their overpriced drinks, Dave & Buster’s is not a cheap excursion. But, it'll be nice to meet like-minded Mozilla folks in the DFW area, so I’ll go anyhow :).
But, I'm still not sure how The Londoner lost out to Dave & Buster’s :-/.
Having suffered through many mediocre versions in the never-ending quest for good fish and chips here in the colonies, our expectations are never high. What a delightful shock: extremely fresh and flaky cod, wrapped in a light beer batter that seemed so lightly fried that we wonder how the fish got cooked. Likewise, the long, thick chips emerged from the oil neither too flimsy nor too crusty.[...]
Sennheiser HD-580 Headphones
Via DealNews, I see that SelectRebate offers the Sennheiser HD-580 headphones for $168.99, with $3.95 shipping. That's a pretty good price, and you can’t go wrong with Sennheiser for headphones (I listen to Sennheiser's HD-600s at work).
Also from DealNews, I see that Staples.com offers the Maxtor DiamondMax 80GB EIDE UltraATA/100 7200 rpm drive for $139.94 before a $40 mail-in rebate, $99.94 after. Man, I still remember buying the 10.2 GB Maxtor that still acts as my primary drive, for over $200 in ’99.
Williams vs Williams
Well, it looks like it's “Williams vs Williams” for the French Open women's finals. Booooring. I’ll skip that one.
But, in other tennis news, it looks like 11th-seeded Ferrero and No. 20 Costa will be playing for the men’s final on Sunday. Neither has made it to the French Open finals, so this one should be interesting. I think I’ll be rooting for Ferrero on this one.
