While You Were Out

I just saw a commercial on TLC for a new show called “While You Were Out”. The basic idea is that one spouse gets the other out of the house for a few days on a ruse. Then, while he/she is gone, the other one redecorates one room in their home.

With coaxing, conning and little white lies, one spouse or home-owning partner is sent out of town for a couple of days. Then the at-home partner teams up with an interior decorator and two handypersons to undertake a major makeover of the absent significant other's favorite indoor or outdoor space. [...]

It premiers this Saturday, and I already have a Season Pass for it :).

  1. hey I would love to come on your show. My husband and I Just had our first child and are on a tight budget. We need to make our living room comfortable safe and adult while raising our son. If your loooking for great subjects we are it.Hope to hear from you soon

  2. I watch the show sometimes. They Do show a lot of repeats. I wanted to ask a question for whoever might know. I went on the site for TLC to see if I could post this question but I did not see a spot for it. So, I saw a backyard makeover by Peter where he used this “FAUX ROCK”. It was made out of some foam stuff. I wanted to know where they bought it and if they sold such a thing as faux wood. Any thoughts?

  3. WYWO is the best show! Leslie is the best person on it! But what is a Season Pass for a tv show? and how do you get one? Or am I just confusing myself?

  4. My friend told me I was a great canidate for a backyard makeover as she looked out of my kitchen window. My family had a house fire 4 years ago and my husband is a Mr. Handyman. The problem is he starts so many projects, he finds very little time to finish them working the night shift for an airline and repairing other peoples homes during the day! He usual averages 16 hour days! Our backyard looks like a construction dump! A dirty pool, over grown shrubs, concrete slabs, remenants of rocks, tools, dump truck, bobcat, etc. . . . an unfinished shed – an so on! Please help us! I forgot to mention that we rebuilt our home on the same lot and my husband became the sub contractor – still with several odd jobs that are unfinished. I would love to be off HIS TO DO LIST! Please Help! Thanking you inadvance for responding.

  5. Hi- I love the show and I was wondering how you can apply to have a room or home makeover for someone.
My aunt and uncle have helped me so much in the last few years while I finished school and reaised my son alone. They have a beautiful home, but they would really benefit from a makeover in the area by the pool where they constantly host family gatherings. My uncle is a doctor and they have 3 children. They are always doing things for everyone else and I would love to show them how much they are loved and appreciated by doing something wonderful for them- Thank you so much- I hope to hear back from you soon :)

  6. There is a room I would like to have done for my father. He has a loft and it is “suppose” to be a computer area for him. It is a complete mess. My father has done so much for me and my brothers over the last 8 months. My mother passed away 8 months ago from pancreatic cancer. She was sick for 7 months and my father and I took care of my mother. My father did a complete turn around from coming home from work and doing NOTHING to doing everything for my mother! He deserves to have “his” get-away room finised and looking good. Please let me know what I need to do to try to get this accomplished for my father. Please respond I would appreciate it.
