AIM has been acting a little odd lately, perhaps for the past couple days. Each time I sign on it says that my buddy list is gone:
Your buddy list and buddy icon are not available currently, but they have not been lost. Please try again later.
I’m not terribly concerned about my buddy list as I expect it to return eventually. But it sure is a nuisance in the meantime. Anyone else run into this?
I Have a problem with aim… I tried upgrading aim along with middleman and as soon as the upgrade was finished i tried signing on aim but it wouldn’t let me. I can’t start my aim, I can’t exit and I can’t uninstall from the add/remove programs. I tried to reinstall but i won’t complete saying that aim has to be turned off becfore it can reinstall. I’m have difficulties trying to fix this error and it’s getting really frustrating. Did anybody run into this same problem? If so please reply with suggestions. Thanks =)

u noe how when u sign on..it already has sn already on the sign in box.
well highlight ur sn nd on ur keyboard there should say delete.
well click delete.
it will ask if u are sure and click yes or ok!
ok..now put the same sn on the new user thing in the sign in box.
it should work.

my aim lets me sign on and read info’s and do everything but im people, and people can’t im me. everytime someone does an error message comes up saying that aim must shut down because of some problem. can someone please help me fix it? email me if you can i would really appreciate it.

Hi i am having the same problem as a lot of other people. i just got a new dell computer so i know its not the computer. i download AIM 4.8 then i upgrade. well on the upgraded one I can view infos but cant send or recieve IM’s because when I do a box pops up saying AIM has encountered an error and must close. and i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and i even ran a virus scan on it and it was clean. does everyone else that has this problem use 5.9 or whatever the new one is? please let me know if you figure anything out! if i get mine to work ill let you know. please email me with any suggestions raearey89@hotmail.com

im on aim express and it lets me sign pn fine but my buddy list just says loading buddy list but will not load. what do i do
yeah michelle, mine does the same thing! it just keep saying ‘loading buddy list’. but it lets my friend sign on with her s/n! do you think its like a warning or something? if you were talking about something bad via aim?
why wont it let me log on aim it has said for a couple days its univalable. It wont let me get another screen name either. When will aim be avalable again.

i cant sign on on my laptop i use in class or my mothers laptop at home, but the computer in my room which is always on works perfectly. why cant i sign on?!! :[ HELP

To Tara: What are you, some kind of genius? I changed my port from 5190 to 5191 like you said. I had to reconnect, but it came right up and ALL problems were fixed. Thanks genius!

SOLUTION:
When you get this message:
-Your buddy list and buddy icon are not available currently, but they have not been lost.
Please try again later.
To fix:
1.Right click on your aim icon in the task bar
2.Click Preferences
3.Sign On/Off
4.Connection in the lower right corner
5.Click Reset
6.Auto Configure, and then OK
And then sign off and then back on. And there is your buddy list!
I just exited out then signed right back on again and it worked fine.
