Low-carb Beer

From a Slashdot article is mention of a new low-carb beer from Anheuser-Busch: Michelob Ultra:

Michelob Ultra is a smooth, refreshing lager with 96 calories, 4.1 percent alcohol by volume and 2.9 grams of carbohydrates per 12-oz. serving. The brand began test marketing in December in Denver, Colo., Tucson, Ariz., and Ft. Myers, Naples and Punta Gorda, Fla.

The press release goes on to say that “The brand will roll out nationally in September”. Being that Michelob Ultra is from Anheuser-Busch, I don’t have my hopes up ;). But, I’d be willing to try it once.

  1. Where is this being distributed. I have recently seen the commercials but have failed to see this product in stores. When is it going to hit distributers in Central Arkansas. Even more important, when will I see it in the bars, pubs, restaurants, etc in this area? It is the beginning of November already.

  2. I just tried the beer today; it was better than I expected. I believe that this is the beer that I will drink when I drink beer. It has exactly what I am looking for in a low carb beer.

  3. I purchased Ultra and I thought it was absolutely wonderful. I was afraid that it was going to taste bad but I was very surprised at how good it was. Even my friends who were making fun of me when I bought it thought it was good. Needlesss to say I love beer and UIltra has helped me stick to my diet and enjoy myself at the same time. What more could I ask for?
